It's hotting up for the summer and Brunswick Bush School has a range of cool activities to keep the kids chilled out for the long break. We are going to hit the water big time; sailing pirate rafts, firing our water zookas, canoeing up the wild reaches of the Brunswick River and floating our bark boats..... We have so many cool craft activities on offer that the kids can chill out with and let their hands and imaginations run wild- hobbit houses, journey sticks, whittling and more....

Mon 17th December Water Blasters Get set for the biggest water fight ever! You will make your own water cannon that can shoot a blast of water up to 10 metres! Tue 18th Pirate Rafts Pirates Ahoy! Calling all Pirate wannabies….strap on yer best peg leg, find a stuffed parrot and hobble on down as we construct our pirate rafts! Wed 19th Whittling Bring your pocket knives. We’ll be whittlin’ away the time by the creek honing our skills and making some fancy craft pieces. We’ll cover the basics of safety and how to whittle. Thur 20th Journey Sticks Journey sticks have been used for a long time by many native peoples around the globe. They tell the story of a journey made with items that are collected along the way (feathers, leaves, twigs etc..) or by marking out special features in the land. Frid 21st Canoeing Mullum to Brunz The tides are perfect for a Paddle down the main arm of the Brunswick River. We will paddle from Mullum to Brunz taking in bushland and wildlife along the way and stopping for a swim and to explore wild and remote river banks!!    https://www.trybooking.com/ZMZP

Wed 9th Dream Catchers

Bring your dreams as we weave them into an amazing piece of art! We’ll forage in the bush for pieces to add, learning about this sacred native American tradition and culture as we go.

Frid 11th Canoeing Simpson’s Creek One of our most popular activities, we spend the day on the beautiful Brunswick River, catching the incoming tide up the wild reaches of Simpson’s creek.  Frid 18th Nest Boxes What is a nest box? It is a home for wildlife. Did you know it can take up to 200 years for a suitable hollow to form for homes for some our native wildlife? Mon 28th Treasure Hunt This is no ordinary treasure hunt- we teach through fun! We leave a tricky trail through the bush. To get to the treasure, the kids have to solve clues and perform various feats. Along the way they learn about different animals, plants and learn a few skills. Don’t worry the treasure is sugar free and healthy! https://www.trybooking.com/ZMZP

All activities will run from 9-3pm and are based outdoors for the entire day. We meet outside the Brunswick Heads Surf Life Saving Club and then head into the bush (except for canoeing days. When canoeing we meet adjacent to the river. Notice will be sent via email on where to meet).

The activities presented on any given day may change due to weather, numbers and other unforeseen circumstances. In the case of wet weather we set up basic tarp shelters. Each day is interspersed with games, sacred circles, 'sit spot' (nature meditation), a swim if weather permits and other nature connection activities.

Cost is $60* per day per child. 10% discount for siblings.
